Description:

Originally conceived in 2021, Anata no Obake began as a deeply personal and introspective project created behind the scenes of NECO ASOBI.

Born during a time of creative struggle and uncertainty, the early instrumental demos “Taiwa”, “Fragment”, and “Anata no Obake” were never intended for release.

They were a quiet rebellion, a private conversation with music itself.

By 2023, life had shifted. With NECO ASOBI on hiatus and a new chapter of personal life beginning, artist u.u found themselves reflecting on whether music still had a place in their life.

What began as a farewell to music became something more: a heartfelt closure.

Two new songs, “Musubi” and “It’s Over,” were added to the original demos, and with the addition of lyrics and vocals (via Vocaloid Chis-AI), the EP was completed, raw, emotional, and honest.

Now available for the first time on vinyl, this edition features newly remastered versions of all tracks in collaboration with KAOMOZI and Phantoms Records.
The title track’s “Obake” represents something deeply personal, an ever-present memory, feeling, or connection that never truly fades.

For u.u, that ghost is music.

This record is more than just a collection of songs, it’s a farewell, a rediscovery, and a quiet promise to continue.

Phantoms Records carefully reworked the mastering entirely in the spirit of the lost art of true “vinyl master artist” craftsmanship, fully analog and dedicated to the highest possible standard of sound quality.
